How to deal with cockroaches in an apartment

Hello! Recently, I have been talking less and less with my sister. Affects the distance and her busyness with her family.

But then a call rang out from her, and she in a joyful voice shared with me the details of her victory over cockroaches.

It turns out that the last six months they have formed a small army of these insects. The months of struggle were successful - now they have become much calmer. Want to know how to deal with cockroaches in your apartment? What are the best tools to use for this? Then read on.

How to get rid of cockroaches

Cockroaches are not the most pleasant neighbors, but they live for good reason next to a person. If we consider them from a biological point of view, then they are our symbionts - organisms that exist next to us to bring certain benefits. But which one, you ask?

Important!
Everything is very simple, they eat up our leftovers, and thereby make some contribution, cleaning our homes. But this fact, of course, few people will change their attitude towards cockroaches and make them treat them with gratitude after that.

Moreover, certain harm from them also exists - for example, they can be carriers of various diseases, and if there is a small child in the house, then he can catch an insect out of curiosity and taste it, it is unlikely that adults will like it.

Well, in the end, the owners of the apartment can’t tolerate such a neighborhood from a feeling of hostility and disgust. That is why everyone who encounters an unpleasant neighborhood of cockroaches just wants to get rid of them as soon as possible.

There are many ways to do this, ranging from the traditional karbofos used by sanitary and epidemiological stations to the popular chemicals and traps advertised on television. Most of these tools have many common drawbacks.

After etching, the cockroaches do not completely disappear, they can just linger for a while, but more often they just get smaller. An unpleasant smell in the apartment, which may remain after disinfection (for example, from dichlorvos, karbafos and other liquid chemicals).

Chemicals that are used to control cockroaches are dangerous not only for cockroaches, but also for the health of people and animals living in the house where the pickling was carried out.

Pairs of pesticides pose a health hazard, they significantly weaken the immune system, which leads to a decrease in the body's ability to deal with harmful and pathogenic environmental effects. As a result of this, almost any disease can worsen or develop further.

Pesticides, dry in structure, are dangerous if they enter the human mucous membrane (mouth, scratches, wounds, etc.). Most often, pets and children suffer from this. For animals, this often ends in disrepair, even fatal.

Advice!
The likelihood of an animal dying after a "raid" of fighting cockroaches increases at times if its mass is small, such as small dogs, cats and other small animals. These funds are especially dangerous for cats, which lick all the dirt and dust off the coat with their tongue.

Next, we will talk about a method of getting rid of cockroaches, and more precisely about its two variants, which is based on the use of their own biological characteristics against these nasty insects.

I want to warn you right away that the described method is not an author’s technique. It is quite popular, many people know about it, or at least have heard, or maybe even tried to use it, but not very successfully, because patience is necessary for its correct implementation.

The results from this method should be expected only after 3-4 weeks, while cockroaches die immediately from pesticides.

Cockroaches can live without food, but their existence without water is impossible, for them water is life! If a cockroach is injured, crippled, half-poisoned or half-dead, then it can survive if it reaches a spring with water.

These unpleasant creatures are very small, so it’s simply unrealistic to destroy them by blocking access to water, because they will find it everywhere. They can get drunk in a flower pot, near the sink or in the toilet, even a small drop of water on the floor is enough for them to quench their thirst.

That is why it is impossible to get rid of cockroaches by leaving home for a long time and leaving them without food, they will continue to live in the house, because there is always water there (at least in the toilet cistern), and they can also escape for a meal to the neighbors on the floor .

Another interesting fact about cockroaches is that they are incredibly curious. You can even conduct an experiment to verify this. For example, put a bright candy wrapper in the middle of the room so that you can observe the area.

Attention!
If there are a lot of cockroaches in your house, then just step aside and hide for a while, if there are few of them, then you need to wait until it gets dark. What will you see? These small insects with curiosity will begin to approach an interesting object, exploring it with their antennae.

Cockroaches cannot transmit information to each other or share their own life experiences. Of course, it is possible that some methods of transferring certain experience between them are available, but they are still unknown to the person.

However, the fact that they are not able to warn their comrades about the impending danger is reliable.

Boric acid for cockroaches is the most terrible poison! If cockroaches die in the usual way from pesticides having a wide spectrum of action (i.e., which are used for pickling, except for cockroaches, bugs, people and animals), boric acid, in addition to the direct death of the insect, causes indescribable flours in it.

During exposure to acid, the body of a cockroach encompasses hellish itching. An acid poisoned cockroach may even survive, but it will leave the site of infection as far as possible and will never return there.

And now the most important thing, what methods of combating cockroaches can be thought up, given their features listed above?

Method number 1

It is necessary to sprinkle all the sources of water in the house with a powder of boric acid - a toilet, a bathroom, sinks, you can also process ventilation openings, baseboards, the place where the trash can is and other places that you think may be their territory.

Do not spare acid and boldly pour it on the desired surface, as it is completely harmless to humans and animals.

Important!
Moreover, this tool is cheap. You will need about 100 grams of boric acid to sprinkle the entire apartment, depending, of course, on its size and your “love” for cockroaches.

But cockroaches are very sensitive to boric acid, they can smell it and find a source of water where there is no poison. And I can assure you that they will certainly succeed, maybe not everyone, but many have it for sure. Therefore, there is another way.

Method number 2

This method is to use their own curiosity against cockroaches. To do this, we need one raw egg yolk and about 50 grams of boric acid.

Mix the ingredients until a thick slurry is formed, then blindfold several small balls of it, about 1 cm in diameter, let them dry for about an hour and scatter in prominent places in the apartment. First of all, it should be a kitchen, toilet and bathroom (you can pay special attention to the kitchen).

When scattering balls, choose places that will be visible from the point of view of cockroaches - these are the surfaces of cabinets, kitchen sets, shelves, in general, everything that is not in your field of vision, but it is clearly visible by cockroaches.

You can put poisonous balls on window sills if you have flowers there. During the day, remove the balls from those places where you can step on them, but at night put them back again, because night is the most active time for cockroaches.

A cockroach does not learn boric acid in a disguised attractive ball; instead, it will certainly come up to inquire about what it is so beautiful. And if a cockroach touches it with its antennae, then it is doomed, if not to death, then to unbearable itching.

However, he will not be able to warn his relatives that this attractive ball is deadly for them. Why this happens is not clear. Perhaps the communication of cockroaches has not yet reached such a high level of development, or maybe he just can not connect his own torment with a beautiful ball.

Advice!
This means that other cockroaches will approach the ball, and return from it already terminally ill. What is also important, a sick cockroach with its mere touch can infect a healthy one.

Perhaps at first you decide that there is no use in these balls, cockroaches do not react to your tricks and calmly crawl along these balls without showing any signs of infection.

However, in a few weeks you will find more and more corpses of cockroaches, if there were many, and a little more time later they will completely disappear. You ask how long?

If six months later you again find intruders at your home, it means that some female (or several) managed to lay their eggs and this is a new generation. You can deal with them in the same way. If the cockroaches reappeared after a few years, then you need to update the poisonous balls, because they do not bother anyone, being on top of the cabinets.

It happens that cockroaches dropped by to visit you, just running away from their neighbors, where they might have tried to poison them. If the balls are in their places, then do not worry, very soon intruders will be running back. For prophylaxis, it is possible to treat the ventilation openings from time to time with boric acid powder.

If you want to be completely sure that you will get rid of cockroaches, then use both methods at once. It will be not only more effective, but also faster.

These methods are absolutely harmless to human health and domestic animals, while they effectively rid it of vile insects, even if your whole house is teeming with them, and not a small apartment. This method works!

He was repeatedly tested in dormitories, communal apartments, as well as in houses where cockroaches became a part of life. The most important thing is to be patient. Do not be lazy and do everything as expected.

Attention!
If you are very squeamish, then you can use the following advice: when you once again decide to slam a small creature with a slipper, then do it thoroughly.

Cockroaches are incredibly resistant to physical damage. In order for a cockroach to die, it is necessary not only to slam it, but to smear it in the literal sense of the word, otherwise it may come to its senses, find a source of water, come back to life, and even produce offspring. But this is not the main advice.

It’s best not to completely nail the cockroach, but lightly so that it can’t get far away until you get the treasured bag of boric acid and pour it onto the cockroach. After that, you can let him go in peace, because he will not only die himself, but will be able to destroy several of his brothers.

It is necessary to prepare well for the fight against cockroaches. It is necessary to properly wash all cabinets, as well as cabinets in the kitchen, using detergents, after which they should be thoroughly wiped dry. Then you should pack in dry bags all dry products that were stored in cabinets and drawers. Such measures are necessary in order to get rid of all extraneous odors.

In the same way, you need to pack all the napkins and soft paper that is in the kitchen. The sink and table should be wiped dry. In addition, it is necessary to close up all the ventilation openings and cracks from where unwanted guests may appear.

During the fight against cockroaches, you need to carefully monitor that the kitchen is clean, do not leave dirty dishes and regularly throw garbage out. If all this is observed, then a positive result will not be long in coming.

Cockroach Remedies

Currently, there are a huge amount of tools to help get rid of cockroaches. You can conditionally divide them into several types - these are aerosols, gels, crayons, houses, traps, home remedies, as well as cockroach control services.

The gel can be bought at any specialized store, it is sold in large syringes and is ready for instant use. The method of using such a tool is quite simple: it is applied in small drops, at a distance of about 10 cm from each other, around the perimeter of the room along the plinth.

Important!
As a result, cockroaches can leave you within a week after application. To date, the most effective are such gels as Raptor, Killer, Globol, Dohloks and Liquidator.

Traps are small round boxes with several cockroach entrances. Inside this box is poison, which the cockroaches themselves then carry to their brethren.

The box is very convenient in that it has special Velcro and can be attached almost anywhere. The most effective traps for today are the Raid, Combat, and Raptor traps.

Small cardboard boxes in the shape of houses - this is a means of combating cockroaches, which is called houses. The house is made of cardboard, which is completely sticky inside, in the center of it there is a bait for cockroaches, sensing which, they immediately creep into the house, but stick and remain there.

Following the first cockroaches, new ones come running, and they are not at all stopped by the fact that their relatives have stuck there. Such houses are absolutely harmless to humans and animals. When choosing such a tool, the manufacturer does not matter, since cockroaches are glued to any houses.

Aerosols - Another means of combating cockroaches. They spray all possible places of accumulation of cockroaches, baseboards, crevices, door jambs, etc. The most effective aerosols of companies such as Raid and Baigon, but it is better to change them periodically, because cockroaches can get used to one of them.

Crayons. When used correctly, they can also be quite effective. Once a week, you need to use special crayons to process cracks, skirting boards and other surfaces, and after a month the cockroaches will disappear from your home. Good crayons, for example, Mashenka and Titanic.

Advice!
You can also use cockroaches at home (the method described above with boric acid). In addition, it is very useful in winter when leaving home to leave the windows open. Cockroaches do not tolerate frost, and part of them can leave such a habitat.

If you do not want to delve into the process of pickling cockroaches, you can simply call the anti-cockroach service. Within an hour they will process your apartment, and cockroaches will not appear there for at least about a year.

Cockroach control at home without the help of special services

For those who are not ready or unable to invite experts to their home, there are many ways to try to cope with the aliens on their own. Learn how to deal with cockroaches at home, and start implementing your plans immediately!

Almost everyone faced the problem of how to get rid of cockroaches. You can start with folk remedies - they are quite effective, although they are far from instant, so you have to be patient. But the toxic substances of natural origin are completely non-toxic and harmless to humans.

Wormwood is one of the folk remedies that are used against cockroaches. Wormwood, feverfew, bay leaf, geranium - this is what the cockroaches in the apartment are afraid of.

It is enough to decompose the leaves or powder from these plants in the habitats and intensive movement of the Prussians, for example, near the sink and mixer, on shelves with products, along the edges of the working kitchen surface - and soon you will notice that the number of insects began to decrease.

They do not like pests and pungent odors - turpentine, gasoline, kerosene, ammonia, but such liquids will not help answer the question of how to deal with cockroaches in the kitchen, because they are volatile, so intense smells easily fall into products that cannot be used later.

These tools are ideal for corridors and pantries. You can use them in rooms, but only if you have a powerful air conditioner that removes a specific smell without a trace.

Attention!
Pungent odors also scare off cockroaches, but it will not be practical to use them in the kitchen.

Don't know how to get rid of cockroaches in the kitchen? Try boric acid mixed with astringents that also have an attractive smell, such as egg yolk, boiled crushed potatoes, honey or flour. Boric acid has long been helping people in the fight against cockroaches.

Alabaster or gypsum mixed with flour works well, cementing in the stomach of the pest.

Drugs sold in specialized stores can be divided into several groups:

  • liquids and suspensions;
  • sprays and aerosols;
  • powders and crayons;
  • gels.

All of them are quite effective, provided that they are truly branded quality products. If you applied gel or crayon to the surface, and the Prussians continue to walk quietly on it, then you have come across poor-quality counterfeit products.

The peculiarity of such chemistry is that insects quickly get used to its components, and then the fight against cockroaches at home turns into an endless and useless action.

Traps, both bought at the store and made by yourself using the “food” bait and glue or scotch tape, will help reduce the number of active individuals in the room, however, in order to completely destroy them using this method, you will need more than one human life.

Adhesive traps can reduce the number of unexpected guests, but will not completely eliminate them.

There is also a cockroach repeller - an electronic device that expels the Prussians from their area of action by means of ultrasonic or electromagnetic waves.

Pay attention, it’s exorcising, but not destroying: pests will simply find a more comfortable place for themselves and continue to exist and multiply as if nothing had happened, since the repeller does not do irreparable harm to them. Repellers are different, choose already proven devices.

Freezing rooms

Separately, it is worth stopping at the freezing procedure.True, it works only when the air temperature outside the window is not higher than -10 degrees. Few people know at what temperature cockroaches die.

In order to die, they only need a 20-25-minute exposure to temperatures of about -5 degrees. Therefore, the windows wide open in the frosty winter are quite an effective means.

Important!
However, he also has its drawbacks. Firstly, in order for the desired temperature regime to be established in the kitchen or room, it will take several hours - after all, walls, partitions and ceilings must completely give off heat. And centralized heating significantly slows down this process.

Secondly, household appliances are not very supportive of temperature fluctuations, therefore, before starting to freeze cockroaches, it is better to remove all appliances from the room - a refrigerator, TV, computer, dishwasher, microwave and others.

Thus, the freezing process becomes quite laborious. But on this fight against cockroaches, people's reviews are positive and encouraging for a positive result.

Preventive measures

Cleanliness is the main enemy of cockroaches. In order to prevent the Prusak invasion of your house from becoming global, it is important to take preventative measures in time:

  • to maintain cleanliness and order in the premises, regularly take out the trash, clean the breadbox from crumbs and wash dirty dishes;
  • minimize the presence of water in “problem” places - wipe the bathtub, sink, washstand, faucets and dry surfaces;
  • Do not store products in open form - only in sealed bags and containers;
  • do not leave leftovers in plates, and, if possible, keep ready-made meals in the refrigerator;
  • determine what the cockroaches in the apartment are most afraid of and use this tool not only to kill insects, but also in order to prevent their mass settlement.

If all the tips on how to deal with cockroaches at home turned out to be untenable for you, and the Prussians continue to turn your existence into a nightmare, there is only one way out - go to a service that deals with insect breeding.

Specialists using modern equipment, advanced technologies and powerful drugs will disinfect your apartment and recommend how to proceed in the future so that cockroaches do not visit you for a long time.

Effective cockroach control in an apartment and a house

Cockroaches are a problem that will not go away by itself. If you are tired of such an unpleasant neighborhood, you must use various methods to combat cockroaches.

Ways to combat cockroaches can vary, depending on various factors, for example, you need to consider cockroaches in the apartment or in the house, etc. Measures to control cockroaches may not be so effective if they are used incorrectly.

In the best case, with the wrong fight, you can achieve that for a while cockroaches will disappear. The fight with them will not be over, because, most likely, in the near future, they will appear again. They can run away from neighbors or new offspring appear from abandoned eggs.

An effective fight against cockroaches in an apartment should begin with preparation. And the first measures to combat cockroaches that you need to apply should be aimed at creating the most uncomfortable atmosphere for cockroaches, i.e. cleanliness and order.

Also, if there is a struggle with cockroaches in the apartment, it is necessary to warn the neighbors, because cockroaches can crawl to them, or vice versa, after a successful fight, if the neighbors are the source of the cockroaches, they will return soon. Therefore, it is better to start fighting cockroaches with your neighbors.

Advice!
It is also necessary to determine what type of cockroach lives in your apartment. Fighting home cockroaches will be easier if you know the enemy in person. If your apartment has large cockroaches, these are most likely black cockroaches.

Redheads are smaller. Fighting black cockroaches is easier than fighting red cockroaches, because blacks are less hardy, develop longer and are generally weaker than redheads.

How to poison black cockroaches? Against them, even folk remedies for combating cockroaches will be quite good, in particular, treating the apartment of cockroaches with crayons and sprays. You may wonder how to deal with black cockroaches if you do not want to use poisons and poisons?

The simplest, but nonetheless, the most effective way to combat cockroaches, especially black ones, is to freeze the apartment. The fact is that cockroaches are extremely sensitive to low temperatures. Black cockroaches will die out at -5 degrees.

Therefore, if you have such an opportunity and the weather is suitable on the street - you can get rid of cockroaches and so on. The disadvantage of this method is that you do not eliminate the causes of the appearance of cockroaches in the apartment, which means that they can reappear.

With red pests it is much more difficult, fighting with cockroaches using folk methods will not help with them, they are more hardy and cunning. The best option for events will be the help of professionals.

The Cockroach Control Service will prevent offspring from laying eggs and kill adults. There is an option to independently overcome red cockroaches. There are plenty of drugs for cockroach control, which, when used correctly, will remove cockroaches as true as the help of the cockroach control service.

The simplest method will be the fight against cockroaches boric acid. There are many ways to independently make traps for cockroaches with boric acid. You can make balls from the dough or just take the yolk from a boiled egg and add acid there.

Attention!
Boric acid itself is sold in pharmacies at a fairly low cost.

With this method of fighting cockroaches, you need to be sure that cockroaches will not have access to water, because, with its help, they can be cured of the harmful effects of acid. It is harmless to humans and pets, so it can be safely used even if the apartment has small children, cats and dogs.

Annoying neighborhood

Cockroaches in our home is an unpleasant problem, which, in principle, is not able to disappear by itself. And if homeowners are finally bored by such an annoying neighborhood, it means there is a need for the fight against cockroaches in the apartment to begin.

Here, new completely logical questions immediately arise: how to poison cockroaches in an apartment in order to achieve the desired result, what methods to use to combat these insects, and which home remedies for cockroaches are most appropriate.

The existing methods of combating conventional cockroaches, obtained from different sources, can radically differ from each other. Differences in the mentioned methods depend on a variety of external factors. Let's say that cockroaches in an apartment disappear forever, when they are harassed, it is important to take into account the characteristics of a particular room (disinsection is planned in the house or apartment), etc.

It cannot be said that measures to eliminate cockroaches in a person’s home may not be as effective as we would like if they were used incorrectly. Often, when carrying out not quite the right disinsection, the owners of the house achieve only that the cockroaches strenuously hide, without falling into the eyes of the owners for a short time.

Unfortunately, in this case, the fight against cockroaches in the apartment (at this stage) will not be completed, because, after a short time period, the insect population will reappear.

So, newly appearing cockroaches are able to run to you from their closest neighbors, and in addition, completely new cockroach offspring may appear from the eggs left during the initial processing of the eggs.

Important!
It should be noted that the fight against parasites such as cockroaches in an apartment is always a laborious process, which, however, can be carried out in almost one day.

At the same time, the homeowners themselves, as a rule, have to think and choose how to poison unpleasant insects, because there is simply no universal way to save everyone and always from unpleasant neighbors.

Unfortunately, even seemingly perfectly safe and truly effective insecticides intended for home (independent) use, there are certainly certain pros and cons to consider.

It is incredibly important to understand that the persecution of insects that are unpleasant for you does not have to begin with a quick search for the most expensive, effective or simply quick-acting poisonous agent.

First of all, you should think about why cockroaches got the opportunity to start in your house? Remember that cockroaches are practically not able to live where clean and real food for them (in the form of a dirty bin with food waste) is clean.

In general, the effective fight and baiting of cockroaches, first of all, is obliged to imply an integrated approach, which we will discuss further.

How to fight

Asking the question: how to poison cockroaches in an apartment, you need to understand that the truly effective elimination of these insects should begin with the mandatory preparation of the premises for disinsectization procedures.

The main measures for the preparation and subsequent elimination of cockroaches in the home are required to be aimed at creating a completely uncomfortable atmosphere (living conditions) for the cockroaches themselves. Of course, we are talking about creating conditions of absolute purity and complete order in places of accumulation of product residues.

Advice!
In addition, when planning bullying and looking for the most effective way to fight cockroaches, it is necessary to warn neighbors if possible, who should also have at least minimal disinsection for prevention. Indeed, otherwise, cockroaches will simply crawl from neighbor to neighbor, avoiding complete destruction.

It is advisable to determine in advance which variety of these insects you have, because there are so many species of domestic cockroaches in nature. For example, if in the apartment sufficiently large cockroaches are found that are similar to bugs, this is most likely the so-called type of black cockroaches that leave most quickly.

But red cockroaches, despite their relatively small size, are considered more resilient and able to adapt to new means of persecution.

In addition, you may well have white cockroaches in the apartment, which are also considered less hardy than red ones. And this means that it will be somewhat easier and possibly faster to deal with this species.

What is the best way to poison large black cockroaches?

It is generally believed that even the simplest and most common folk remedies can be quite effective against black cockroaches, in particular, this can be the processing of housing with numerous crayons, gels or sprays that are easily purchased in specialized stores.

Many will immediately ask themselves: how to get rid of cockroaches at home without using poison and poisons dangerous for children or pets?

Probably, the simplest, but at the same time quite effective method of bullying cockroaches, especially when it comes to black cockroaches, can be considered a folk method of actively freezing an apartment. After all, biologists have long been able to prove the incredible sensitivity of this type of cockroach to moderately low temperatures.

Pest control experts confirm that it is large black cockroaches that usually die out even at a modest minus five degrees. And this means, if you can leave the housing open, at minus temperatures outside the window, for a day - you can quite easily get rid of unpleasant insects.

The main drawback of this methodology is the lack of guarantees that insects will not hatch from eggs preserved during freezing or simply will not return again, especially if the reasons why cockroaches were initially wound up in the apartment were not eliminated.

How can etch smaller red cockroaches?

Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to deal with red-haired uninvited pest neighbors. Most likely, in this case, the usual freezing of an apartment or other folk remedies without the use of pesticides will not help, since these parasites are both more hardy and much more cunning.

Attention!
The best option to get rid of housing from adversity can be considered the help of professional pest control. After all, it is services to combat various insects that are able to prevent the emergence of new offspring from preserved egg clutches and eliminate every single cockroach.

Although, of course, you can try to get rid of uninvited guests yourself. Today, in the market in abundance you can see preparations intended for the persecution of cockroaches, which, if used correctly, will help to remove insects quickly enough.

In this case, the simplest method of bullying can be considered a technique that uses boric acid, which can simply be scattered around the places of accumulation of cockroaches.

Today, a lot of folk methods have accumulated that allow you to independently make peculiar traps for insects with the same boric acid. For example, you can roll balls of minced meat, egg yolk or dough with the addition of acid.

However, choosing this method of struggle, you need to make sure that the cockroaches themselves will not even have minimal access to water, because otherwise, bullying will not be effective.

In general, no matter which method of bullying you choose, it is important to remember - the most important thing is to be able to create unbearable conditions for the life of cockroaches and these insects themselves will rush to leave. Recall that the most unbearable living conditions for a cockroach are absolute cleanliness and lack of food sources.

Find and Destroy Mission

Before you develop a strategy and tactics for combating cockroaches, you need to find out with whom we are dealing! Most often, such subspecies of these insects live in houses and apartments:

  1. Black beetle. It is not found in all cities, however, you will not envy the residents of those places where this species has settled - it is a Cockroach the size of a prune! And if you go into the kitchen, where there are these creatures, and turn on the light, then they will scatter with a loud stomp!
  2. Red cockroach. In fact, it is light brown, the size of a nail of an adult.
  3. Prusak. It is also sometimes mistakenly called a black cockroach, in fact it is a small (with a child’s fingernail size) dark brown bug.

And if these creatures disgust you - say thank you for living not in Cuba: the cockroaches there also know how to fly!

What do cockroaches want?

Find out on the site “Beautiful and Successful” should anyone who has decided to seriously deal with cockroaches! Of course, this is not necessary in order to arrange in your own apartment a five-star hotel for unexpected "tenants" - on the contrary!

Important!
If you systematically observe the conditions that do not allow cockroaches to receive various benefits of life, then their livestock in the house can decrease even without the use of pesticides! So, what do cockroaches need and where do they find it?

Food. Unfortunately, cockroaches eat absolutely everything - even things that are completely inedible in our opinion!

In addition to food carelessly left unattended, a cockroach feast, crumbs (if you have the habit of having lunch in living rooms or just carrying cookies on your bed, to the computer, etc. - mustached monsters will willingly expand their habitat from the kitchen for the whole apartment!), pet food, etc.

And there are also completely non-food cockroach preferences - for example, watercolor paints (and not just in a box, but put on paper - put your favorite watercolor under glass!), Wallpaper glue (they love to climb under the peeling edges of the wallpaper!), Etc. d.

So leaving them to starve to death is not so simple, but you can try to ensure a harsh diet!

Water. A wet washbasin or the bottom of the bathtub, daily watering indoor flowers, an aquarium ... Cockroaches also obviously do not face death from thirst! At least try to cover all sorts of pots and jars with lids - if the cockroaches teach that there is something liquid, they will certainly get in there!

Warmly. Cockroaches love and tolerate heat and even heat just wonderfully!
However, frost does not doom their population to instant death - at temperatures below + 7-5 degrees they fall into suspended animation and maintain viability for about another day!

If you decide to fight cockroaches by the method of "freezing", you will have to leave the house at least a day at a temperature below minus five, open all the windows and turn off the heating. And then, there is a risk that a couple of brave men will survive a cataclysm in some gap and restore their former numbers!

All means are good

As you know, if you take a fighting look and yell in a loud voice: “Cockroaches! To the exit - step march! ”, Then ... correctly, nothing will happen! And how to deal with cockroaches more effectively? We offer several folk and scientific means:

Advice!
Balls with boric acid. The recipes that your friends may advise you may vary, so I bring my grandmother's recipe. For a full "ammunition", designed for a 3-room apartment, you will need about 50 grams of boric acid powder (it is freely sold in a pharmacy, safe for people and animals), 3-4 boiled yolks (for their enhanced toxicity the grandmother boiled eggs for over 2 hours), a couple of boiled potatoes.

All ingredients are ground into a pasty mass and divided into small balls, which are laid out at the places of cockroach visits. If mass death does not happen, then a mass escape is very likely: the cockroach leaves and never returns to the place where it was poisoned once, and besides, it can infect relatives!

Crayons. They look and apply in the same way as ordinary children's crayons for drawing. But they do not need to be painted with the inscription: “Cockroaches, good-bye!”, But circles and rings around the sources of water - the washbasin, toilet bowl, bathtub, and also along the cracks where the cockroaches stably live. The result will be noticeable in 2-3 days.

Gels. It’s not necessary to lubricate each cockroach with them - you just need to squeeze out the droplets of gel in the most “shabby” places and near the water.

"Traps." A cockroach runs into a trap and ... runs out of it! But already poisoned and contagious for his own kind!

"Houses". This is a small box with a sticky surface inside. It does not apply to potent drugs capable of overcoming cockroaches in a short time; rather, it regulates their “current” number.

Aerosols, sprays. Usually spraying them gives good results, but trying to overcome cockroaches, you can harm the health of households, and for small pets inhaling an aerosol or licking settled particles from the floor can result in death - so this method requires “evacuation of the civilian population” for at least a day .

When fighting with cockroaches, it’s good to use several remedies at the same time, as different remedies have a different method and duration!

Attention!
If you decide to fight cockroaches with radical methods, you can call a special pest control service.Cockroaches will disappear quickly and for a very long time!

But, as you understand, this is achieved through the use of potent pesticides - leave the house yourself, take your pets (and maybe indoor plants).

Before combating cockroaches (by any method), carry out a thorough cleaning - make sure that there are no crumbs, scraps and other organic debris, wipe dry all wet surfaces (sink, bath), tightly close all containers with water (if any), cover toilet lid!

After the “battle”, the bodies of defeated enemies should be removed from the battlefield (because some of them are not bodies at all - these tenacious insects can lie down, catch their breath, swallow a drop of water and run to produce the next generation!).

However, it doesn't matter at all how to deal with cockroaches if there is water left in their reach! Water can heal them from almost any poison!
