How to bring a hornet’s nest in humane and not very ways

how to bring a hornet’s nest
How to bring a hornet's nest

Hello! I took a shovel for temporary use from a neighbor a couple of days ago. I did my best and decided to take the instrument back to the hostess.

When I was giving a shovel, I saw a cluster of wasps near the neighbor’s house. We decided to check what was the matter.

As a result, a huge hornet's nest was found in the attic. Now we begin a joint operation to eliminate it. Want to know how to bring a hornet's nest? What actions should be performed first? In the article below I will try to describe everything for you as detailed as possible.

How to remove a hornet’s nest

Summer is a time of relaxation and entertainment. But, alas, only for those who spend it in warm countries, basking in the warm sunshine. The rest, while away for days in the city or in summer cottages, are forced to wage a continuous struggle with various insects.

Important!
Of course, if we are talking about ordinary midges or mosquitoes, it is quite possible to do with a mosquito net and a fumigator. However, if wasps became your opponents, the question of how to destroy a hornet's nest in the country will need to be approached with all responsibility and seriousness.

Some people mistakenly think that there is no need to worry about how to get the wasps out. Allegedly, with the advent of autumn, the biting "neighbors" themselves will die out. However, this belief is fundamentally wrong.

Not all insects are affected by cold weather. For example, fertilized females are quite capable of surviving the winter and with the advent of spring become queens - the founders of new nests and colonies.

And given the fact that they have the habit of building where they were born, without proper attention the question of how to destroy the hornet’s nest will remain relevant for you for many years.

So that this does not happen, we have prepared for you a detailed informational selection of what wasps are and how to deal with them.

Who are wasps, and how do they differ among themselves

Before talking about how to remove a hornet’s nest, you need to have a clear idea of what these insects are. In the understanding of most people, a typical wasp is a "bee with a narrowed waist."

Its body is covered with a small number of smooth, unbranched hairs, and the color is an alternation of yellow and even stripes or spots.

This insect has six legs, and at the end of the abdomen there is a retractable sting (which, in fact, is an altered ovipositor), which simultaneously serves both for defense and for attack.

However, in fact, it is customary to consider any stinging stalk-bellied insects as wasps, with the exception of bees and ants. Although the total number of their species has long exceeded 20 thousand, conditionally these pests can be divided into 2 groups: single and public, the difference between which is as follows:

  • Single nest wasps build very specific. In their structure, they strongly resemble a vase (created from dirt), where each egg is sealed in a separate cell.It is also possible that all care for the offspring falls on the female’s shoulders, which paralyzes the victim with its poison and lays an egg on her body.
  • Public species live in whole colonies. The queen (founder of the nest) nurtures the first generation of working wasps. Growing up, they take on the role of breadwinners, builders and defenders of the nest, while the queen is fully committed to laying new eggs.

What is it

It would be foolish to talk about how to bring out a hornet’s nest without mentioning what it is. In single wasps - this can be anything, starting from a mink in the ground and ending with holes in the trunks and stems of plants. With public affairs, things are somewhat different.

Advice!
They make their nests from wood, which during chewing is turned into a kind of papier-mâché. It is worth noting that, despite their apparent fragility, such structures are quite durable. They consist of honeycombs arranged in horizontal rows and reliably protect eggs from wind and rain.

All cells contain several hexagonal cells, reliably clogged with a multilayer shell, so the destruction of the aspen nest by simply throwing it away will not solve the problem.

Harm from nesting on your balcony / attic

If you want to know how to remove the hornet’s nest on your own, as well as those who don’t see any problems in such a neighborhood, we want to remind you that wasps are primarily pests.

Moreover, the damage they cause from case to case can vary enormously: in one situation, spoiled products will be the price, in another, your life may turn out to be. Do not believe? Judge for yourself, the hornet's nest in the apartment will cause:

Bites. Bites are the first and most obvious harm that striped pests do. As already mentioned, most wasps are social creatures, which means that the protection of their nest is laid at the level of instincts.

Therefore, if you do not take care in time about how to destroy the hornet’s nest in the house, any person who is near him risks being attacked by dozens of sharp stings, even if he has no destructive motives.

Add here that after a bite, these insects (unlike some others) do not die or even lose their sting, and the situation becomes completely not rosy.

And also we must not forget about allergies, in which only one bite is capable of provoking not only an acute reaction, but also anaphylactic shock (a very likely outcome of which can be fatal).

Attention!
Infections. Being famous for sweet tooth, wasps do not disdain to search for sugar-containing products even in garbage cans and cesspools. After such sorties, billions of bacteria can remain on their paws, including pathogens of various infections and diseases.

Now imagine that after your garbage "raid" the insect decided to eat your food. We think that now you have a desire to destroy the hornet's nest.

Damage to food and plants. Thinking about how to get rid of the nest of wasps will also not hinder fans from digging in the garden. Overcoming considerable distances during the day, these insects can infect your plantings (or fruits) with mold and various bacteria dangerous to plants.

Nurses may well first visit the nearest market (where products often already begin to decompose), and then to your garden, carrying the contagious "surprise" on its feet. In addition, wasps are quite voracious, and the danger also threatens a significant part of your crop.

If you are fond of beekeeping, then how to kill a hornet’s nest must be recognized immediately after the appearance of the first pests. It is no secret that hornets larvae (large wasps) are carnivorous creatures. For their full development, “parents” are forced to regularly go hunting, which in a couple of weeks can result in the death of the whole apiary for you.

As you can see, the damage from these insects is very significant.Therefore, if a hornet’s nest appeared in your house, how to destroy it must be considered as soon as possible.

Means and methods of struggle

If we talk about how to destroy a hornet’s nest on the balcony, you need to understand that the global implementation is expressed in 2 ways:

Self-harassing wasps. An unusual option on how to get rid of the aspen nest on the balcony can be a couple of ordinary plastic bottles with a narrow neck. Each of them will need to be cut in half and connected so that the narrow neck of the “funnel” is directed to the bottom of the second part.

Important!
Then a third of the bottle is filled with a sweet solution (honey, candied water, etc.) and hung up near the problem area. Smelling the sweet aroma, the insects will reach its source, but after entering the bottle they will not be able to fly out.

Another unusual solution to the problem is a vacuum cleaner. With its help, you can both destroy the hornet's nest under the roof, and catch individual insects.

To do this, you just need to fix a funnel on the suction pipe (which, by the way, can be made from the same plastic bottle), as well as prepare something that, after “stripping”, will cover the opening of the dust bag.

It will be enough to click “Start”, bring the resulting design closer to the “hotbed of infection”, and after 10-12 minutes the problem of how to remove the hornet’s nest in the country will stop worrying you. The option of destroying insects in the bag is left to your discretion.

The third method is classical, but it is far from suitable for all cases. If you are interested in how to get rid of the aspen nest in the attic, on the balcony (or somewhere else), attached to the surface with a small leg-twig, then here you will come to the aid of an ordinary plastic bag, pre-processed with household chemicals.

Carefully cover the socket with it, cut the latch (leg) and tighten the neck. Send the received “bag with a gift” straight to the oven.

There is an opinion that the destruction of hornet's nests is worth doing at night. Allegedly, at this time, insects will not be able to properly respond, because they are in a state of sleep.

However, this statement is only partially true. In the first 1-1.5 minutes, perhaps the pests will not touch you, but then, if you do not protect yourself properly, the question of how to get rid of wasps in the balcony or in the attic will very soon turn into a question of how to escape from his stings angry owners.

Also, we would not recommend resolving the issue of how to remove the hornet’s nest using baits and chemicals. Firstly, it will take a significant amount of time (as long as all the larvae eat the poison and die, they already bite you 10 times).

Advice!
Secondly, it’s not at all a fact that you come across a quality product (the share of marriage in the domestic market reaches 30%, and instead of dying, pests can become even stronger and more dangerous). And, finally, thirdly, who will give guarantees that instead of wasps these relatives, pets or plants will not suffer from these chemicals?

Therefore, if you do not want unnecessary problems and injuries among the environment, it will be much more practical and safer to entrust the destruction of wasps to specialized services in this matter, such as the Unified Sanitary Service.

Destruction of the aspen nest by specialists. Turning to professionals is not only a simple solution, but also the most forward-thinking. Firstly, who, if not qualified pest control, knows how to get rid of wasps in the balcony, in the attic, etc.

Secondly, the challenge of specialists will protect you from the threats described above. And finally, thirdly, it’s a benefit. You save:

  • Time. Independent pest control can last for years, while it will take no more than half an hour for our masters;
  • Finance.It is better to pay the disinsector once than to spend money on ineffective (and even hazardous to your health) traps and baits and means for treating and eliminating the consequences;
  • Strength and health. It is better to let a professional with licensed drugs go home once than to try to get the wasps on their own and get a “bonus” in the form of bites and possible poisoning with household chemicals.

As you can see, the benefits are obvious. Therefore, do not hesitate to call, and the question of how to remove the hornet’s nest from the house will no longer cause you any problems.

How to destroy a hornet's nest under the roof: options for action

All "operations" to eliminate the aspen nest are carried out in the dark, when the temperature in the street is below average. A person needs to dress up in a tight suit to protect against insects, gloves and a special mask for beekeepers are needed.

The nest can be abundantly sprayed with kerosene. Since the material of the nest is chopped wood, kerosene instantly penetrates and affects the respiratory system of wasps. Insects die at lightning speed.

If the nest is located in a place inconvenient for destruction and there is no access to it, then the exit from this place is thoroughly foamed without leaving a single click.

Dichlorvos, beloved by all, is best used if, after spraying, the nest can be immediately isolated from fresh air. As a rule, a dense plastic bag is used for this.

This method requires some skill and dexterity. A man inaudibly approaches the nest, carefully throws a dense bag of polyethylene on it, with a sharp movement tears it off and closes the bag. After that, with the package, you can do whatever comes to mind: burn at the stake or pour boiling water in a large container.

How to remove humanely?

If a person does not want to destroy living beings in his soul, then he can, with a clear conscience, take up the relocation of wasps to another place. This is done using the following methods:

  1. the nest is packaged in a bag, but instead of being destroyed, they simply take it to a deserted place where wasps do no harm to anyone. This operation must be done at night with great care;
  2. substances with a strong odor are placed at a distance of 15–20 cm from the nest (red pepper, Domestos, used automobile oil). Insects will not like the pungent smell, and they will not be slow to move to another place.

In winter, the nest can be removed and destroyed without fear, since there are no living individuals there. But, so that in the warm season the wasps do not return to their old habitat, the area of the former nest must be treated with insecticides.

Attention!
Insects will immediately fly away in search of a more suitable place to live.

Before you destroy a hornet’s nest in the earth, you need to think that on the planet all creatures perform their functions. Therefore, do not kill insects, it is better to drive them out using the above methods.

Destruction of wasps and wasp nests

Increasingly, wasp nests can be seen in places where these insects did not settle before. This is not only attics and sheds, the hornet's nest in the apartment is no longer a rarity. Wasps quickly crossed the threshold of harmfulness.

People themselves are to blame for this, they created comfortable conditions for insects.

Therefore, the question: how to remove wasps, begins to worry more and more urban residents. If earlier wasps in megacities were a rarity, today citizens are increasingly turning to the SES with a request to remove wasps on the balcony, loggia or attic.

What places are chosen for nests?

Before you get rid of the aspen nest in the attic or balcony, you need to find it. The wasp that appears too often in the house can be cause for concern. As a rule, these insects choose darkened places for their nests. They may be hard to reach or visible.

Favorite places of wasps are:

  • attics of residential buildings, public and industrial buildings;
  • places under the roof (many nests are found under the eaves);
  • farm buildings on the site;
  • hollow in trees (in the summer they are difficult to notice, but insects can be detected by a specific hum);
  • voids and cracks in the walls (the presence of a nest is indicated by the remains of insects near);
  • pipes, building materials, various rubbish stored on the territory;
  • burrows in the ground (wasps populate finished voids).

How are insects dangerous to humans?

Destroying hornet's nests requires caution. Wasp stings are dangerous to humans. Defending their nest, they sting a man. The sting is used only by females. They pierce the skin of the victims and inject poison.

Important!
The sting is easy to remove because it has no notches, and the wasp can sting again. Bites often cause allergies, sometimes more serious complications are possible.

The most dangerous punctures near the nerve and lymph nodes, the mucous membrane. If the poison enters the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, swelling of the airways is possible. In addition, insects are carriers of dangerous diseases.

Therefore, after locating the location of insects, you need to destroy the hornet's nest. In this case, the method should be as quick and preferably simple.

Ways to destroy nests

All methods of fighting wasps come down either to the destruction of the nest, or to its removal with further relocation or destruction. You need to start solving the problem during a period of minimal activity of insects - in early spring, autumn, and preferably in winter. In extreme cases, you can do this in the summer, but at night or in the early morning, while the wasps are not active.

Professionals can easily destroy wasps during a period of high activity of insects. But without special equipment and knowledge, this is a big risk.

Mechanical ways to destroy wasp nests. A plastic bag is thrown over the nest and quickly closed, separating the nest from the attachment point. The nests are burned whole.

There is another way to kill a hornet’s nest. He is dipped in boiling water, crushing on top of something heavy. An hour later, wasps will die in hot water. You cannot store a bag of live wasps - after some time, insects can gnaw at the bag.

In winter, the nest in the country can be easily removed from the attachment point yourself and destroyed without special precautions. Wasps do not winter in it. After this, the location is treated with an insecticide. This method is suitable for those who are looking for how to get rid of wasps on the balcony. But keep in mind that in warm rooms the nests can remain inhabited even in winter.

Advice!
Chemical methods of dealing with wasp nests. Insecticidal aerosols are used only if it is possible to isolate the nest without giving air access.

You can cover it with polyethylene or a suitable container and spray the drug. This is one way to destroy a hornet's nest under the roof. It is only important to choose the right drug, especially if wasps have entered the house. Not all insecticides are effective and safe.

Housing wasps in its structure resembles paper, it absorbs kerosene well. How to get a hornet's nest with kerosene? It is sprayed directly onto the nest. So the oil gets into the nest and on the bodies of insects. Kerosene blocks the respiratory system, from which wasps die.

Traps and lures. How to get rid of the nest of wasps if insects are deployed in the same place every year? They can be scared away by installing a fake of the same aspen nest. Seeing him, the wasps will not begin to build their home, as they have developed a sense of their own territory. They guard her and do not let strangers go there.

There are special baits that suggest how to remove a hornet’s nest from the house. They consist of containers filled with a sweet liquid with the addition of an insecticide.

Such drugs are suitable: Get, Delta Zone, Lambda Zone or just boric acid. Traps are installed in close proximity to the nest. This method is often used if you do not know how to remove the hornet's nest in the country.

Security measures

Destruction of an aspen nest is associated with a certain risk.Without protective clothing, one cannot approach him, because wasps can attack in a swarm. Beekeepers and gardeners are well aware of this. They conduct a systemic fight against harmful insects, and they know how to remove the hornet's nest with minimal risk. Usually this is a set of activities.

When choosing how to destroy a hornet’s nest, preference should be given not only to effective, but also to safe methods. A beekeeper suit with special bite protection will come in handy. Shoes should be closed, clothing tight, with long sleeves. It will not be superfluous to think over all possible ways of retreat, because angry insects often pursue the destroyers of nests.

Attention!
But how to remove a hornet’s nest if it is hidden from the eyes? You can not violate its integrity, so you can provoke an attack. In the presence of people and without protection, chemicals must not be used.

Sometimes the nests are filled with mounting foam. This can only be done if finding the entrance to the nesting site is beyond doubt. Without good reason, it’s better not to bother at all. However, if insects are dangerous, it is better not to risk conducting experiments, but to contact professionals immediately.

How to get rid of an aspen nest in the country? Families of most wasps are annuals. One female remains to hibernate in the nest. With the onset of spring, she builds a nest and independently feeds the first generation.

And only then, working individuals fed by it, begin to fly out for food, and the function of the uterus is limited to egg laying. Knowing such features, it is easier to understand how to destroy a hornet's nest in the country without risk.

Bait traps should be set early in the spring, as soon as insects, which are food for wasps, are activated. If you catch the aspen uterus during this period, it will not be difficult to destroy the nest. If it is not possible to wait for spring, the destruction of wasps is carried out in other ways. It is better to immediately call the pest control.

How to get rid of the aspen nest in the balcony and attic?. The question of how to get rid of wasps on the balcony more often arises in the summer. During the construction of the dwelling, insects are hardly noticeable. Before you destroy the hornet's nest on the balcony, you need to check whether it is populated.

Empty sockets are simply removed and destroyed. With populated cells, things get more complicated. This must be understood when solving the problem of how to get rid of wasps in the attic.

If you are looking for how to destroy a hornet’s nest in the house in the safest way, call specialists. They know how to get wasps out of the balcony or attic quickly, reliably and absolutely safely. In this case, you do not risk anything.

How to get rid of an aspen nest on your own?

Bees bring many benefits to people, unlike wasps, although they, apparently, provide certain benefits for humans or nature. But, you see, it’s unpleasant when these “comrades” settle on your balcony, and even the whole family.

No, that’s nothing, but they don’t want to pay for the light, and they can even bite. The hornet's nest on the balcony in the apartment is a fairly common occurrence, and it does not bring joy.

Important!
It is especially unpleasant when you begin to prepare for the autumn period, and, like a real mistress, roll up jam, and these passengers are right there. But, in addition to being unpleasant, it is also dangerous, especially if you have children.

In addition, wasps are also dangerous because they are active carriers of various infections, and if you think this is not scary, then you are deeply mistaken.

Therefore, in any case, this problem must be solved, and we will tell you how to destroy the hornet’s nest.

Wasps live in families, so if you saw several individuals constantly flying near your windows, while you do not attract them, then you should check everything, it is possible that you have a lot of trouble on your balcony or on the roof of the house. The easiest way is to carefully inspect everything, as the hornet's nest has a remarkable shape.

Probably all of you have seen the nest of the swallow, and so the hornet - similar, only several times more. If you can’t see it visually, then follow the wasps where they fly. There will be a buzz next to the nest itself.

So. Problem detected. The first thing you should do is calm down and realize that you can solve it yourself. Of course, ordinary repellents will not help in this situation, but ... There are more reliable and time-tested methods.

You can go the easiest way and buy a chemical product that is sold in specialized stores for the cottage and at home. The drug is applied to the nest itself, and wasps carry it inside, passing it to relatives. As a result, they become sick and die. This is indeed the easiest, but not always reliable way.

Another way is to blow out the nest with foam, which blow out the windows. Of course, the soul will ache from such an action, torment conscience, but if this is not done, then the face and the fifth point will ache from bites. Take the foam and blow out the entrance to the nest at night when all the wasps are sleeping.

Advice!
You can put a more gentle trap. Cut off the top from the plastic bottle, and pour either sour stewed fruit or sugar syrup into the bottle itself. Set a trap near the nest, and wasps quickly fill it with themselves. Of course, such a method is long, but reliable, and conscience from killing will not torment.

The second trap - on a crust of melon, watermelon, apply, again, a chemical agent. Wasps eat him, and this is where their story ends.

How to bring a nest with wasps from a wooden house

The problem of the appearance of wasps in a dwelling or in a country house is familiar to many. These insects are regular guests both in private village houses and in urban comfortable apartments. Unlike bees, wasps are predators and feed on other insects. One wasp can sting in a couple of minutes about 5-6 times, after which it continues to live.

A bee will never bite a person, or an animal just like that, but only in exceptional cases, after which it will soon die.

What danger are insects?

Most often, paper wasps (or public) are found. They got such a strange name because they build nests for themselves from paper, which they themselves produce. The second name indicates that wasps love to live in colonies, each of which numbers from several hundred to several thousand individuals.

Colonies prefer to settle near human dwellings, because you can always find food in them. More than 3,000 species of paper wasps are known in the world, about 100 of which live in the temperate climate zone.

In addition, wasps are parasites and do not bring absolutely no benefit. The problem of the appearance of wasps is especially acute in the warm season - they constantly strive to fly into the window, and also like to crawl over sweet foods.

The hostility to wasps has many good reasons. And the point here is not even their annoyance.

Reasons for hatching wasps:

  1. hornet bites cause excruciating pain;
  2. the affected area swells and the person experiences suffering;
  3. wasps are big fans of landfills, especially spoiled rotting foods. Particles of this rot and bacteria remain in nicks on their abdomen and paws, after which they sit on human food. The abundance of bacteria on the bodies of wasps can cause the appearance of a serious upset stomach and even Escherichia coli;
  4. only a few wasps are able to destroy the harvest of one fruit tree or berry bush in the country as soon as possible;
  5. if a person approaches their nest out of curiosity, or out of ignorance, most likely he will be completely bitten by these insects;
  6. bites can cause severe allergies, and in some cases are even fatal.

Habitat

Paper wasps build their nests, which can reach several meters in height and width. And this is another good reason not to let them arrange housing for themselves.For construction, they use old rotten wood, which they chew and moisten with saliva.

Attention!
Rapid identification of the problem and the adoption of operational measures is the key to the destruction of these pests.

Most often, hornet houses are located in hollows of trees and on branches, but can also be located in close proximity to a human dwelling.

  • favorite nesting places are dry, warm attics. In this case, wasps present the greatest danger;
  • wooden toilets on the street, sheds, any other premises that are not visited much and seem wasps safe;
  • the space under the slate on the roofs;
  • under the canopies of verandas, balconies, terraces and loggias;
  • in the cracks behind the upholstery;
  • in other places: in the grass, on a fallen tree, in a rotten stump, piled in a bunch of old boards, etc.

How to detect and destroy a nest

If you find a hornet's nest, then, first of all, do not panic. Do not come close to him, consider, and even more so try to bring down a stone, or a stick. Wasps are already extremely aggressive, and when an uninvited guest gets into their territory, then he will definitely not leave safe and sound.

As with any object, the aspen nest has its own guard, which will fight to the death for its home.

You can detect the presence of striped pests in this way - in places of their constant accumulation, you need to put a piece of raw meat and track the flight path from the bait and back.

So, observations showed the presence of wasps on the site. What to do in this case? The methods of destroying wasps are divided into 2 main types: relatively safe and relatively unsafe.

Safe methods for destroying wasps:

  • gradual capture using various traps with their further destruction;
  • scattering of poisoned baits;
  • insecticide treatment.

Unsafe methods to destroy wasps:

  • placing the nest with individuals in a bucket of water;
  • burning out nests (not suitable for wooden houses, trees, and flammable structures).

After choosing the appropriate method, it is worth considering the basic rules for deriving:

  1. in any case, provide the whole body with good protection - put on as many layers of tight fitting clothing as possible so as not to leave the slightest loophole for the insects, pay special attention to protecting the eyes and respiratory tract;
  2. a hornet’s nest is best destroyed at the beginning of spring, when wasps are just beginning to build and their colony is not so large. At this time, the nest does not exceed the size of a small apple;
  3. wasps should be removed after dark, since at this time the entire colony returns to the hive and sleeps. So you can once and for all put an end to this problem;
  4. be sure to warn the neighbors in the vicinity so that the windows are tightly closed and do not go out; wasps are very vengeful and can drive their anger at someone else.

Unsafe methods

If the hornet’s nest hangs on something thin, or is loosely attached to the surface, you can use the following methods to destroy it.

Insecticide bag. This method will require remarkable courage and dexterity. You will need: a dense plastic bag, adhesive tape and an insecticide (for example, “Lambda”, “Delta Zone”, “Kukaracha”, “Executioner”, etc.)

Important!
Insect repellent is pre-poured into the bag. At night, when all the wasps are sleeping, you need to quietly get to the nest, place it as carefully as possible in the bag and tightly seal the junction with adhesive tape. Within a few hours after the action of the product, all the wasps in the bag suffocate.

Bucket with water. Sometimes, when it is necessary to act quickly and radically, the desired insecticide may be absent. This method of getting rid of pests is even more extreme than the previous one and is suitable only for nests that are relatively low and easily detachable. All that is needed for this method is a bucket with a lid, water and lion's courage.

For a more comfortable passage of the process, you can take an assistant with you, and add insecticide to the water. Everything is done the same at night, when insects are least active. It is necessary with a sharp and strong movement of a stick to knock the nest into a substituted bucket of water and immediately tightly cover it with a lid.

It should be borne in mind that a certain number of wasps still manage to fly out of the nest, therefore, before the start of “Operation X”, you need to take care of protecting your body.

Safe methods

Cooking Poisoned Bait. The action of this method will have to wait a while. You will need an insecticide and bait - for example, watermelon peels, or any piece of sweet juicy fruit. The baits are sprayed with poison and laid out in places of the greatest concentration of wasps. After a few days, the pests will disappear.

Cooking traps. Special wasp traps are sold in many stores, but in order to save money, you can make them yourself. All that is needed is an empty plastic bottle, an insect repellent and some sweet liquid (for these purposes, jam, kvass, or ordinary soda will work well).

About a third of the plastic bottle needs to be cut off, the cork removed and turned upside down, marking in the resulting plastic “glass”. The “glass” is filled with a pre-prepared liquid with an insecticide. By placing this bait near the nest, you can get rid of these dangerous insects once and for all.

Although these two methods require some time, they are very effective and are used when the hornet’s nest is out of reach — too high above the ground or in hard-to-reach places.

How to destroy wasps in a crevice in a house, or a drainpipe. To do this, you need to get to the nest at night and carefully spray it with “Dichlorvos”, and then restrict access to the treated area (for example, tightly close a large board).

Advice!
In a few days it will be possible to throw away the nest and disinfect the former habitat of yellow predators.

Instead of “Dichlorvos”, you can use gasoline in the atomizer - wasps do not tolerate its smell and will never return to their original place.

Folk methods of struggle

In addition to physical and chemical methods of control, you can also use folk tips for the destruction of wasps.

  • gum and some other natural substances can scare wasps out of the house forever;
  • so that the wasps do not organize their colony, for example, under the visor of a summer residence, or at home, you can wipe the desired area with kerosene or gasoline.

To avoid the construction of hornet's nests in early spring, it is recommended to conduct a preventive review of places suitable for their comfortable living.

First of all, these are various abandoned buildings (especially in the corners and under the roof canopies), on trees (in particular in hollows, on branches and in hollow rotten stumps), in piles of boards, crevices of living quarters, in attics, etc.

The nest must be destroyed immediately before it has reached enormous size, and the aspen colony has not grown to several thousand individuals. It is important to remember that the best time to destroy nests is late night and early morning, when all the insects in the nest are still sleeping.

Do not forget to protect the body from bites - only one wasp can bite 5-6 times in a few minutes. After deinsectization, lubricate the place where the nest was, with kerosene, or gasoline - the wasps will stay away from it and will never come back again.

How to destroy a hornet’s nest

If humanity towards wasps is alien to you, then you can use the following options.

Cover the nest with a dense plastic bag, then separate from the surface, tie a bag. After that, the bag with the nest can be burned or just pour boiling water in a bucket.

Attention!
Dousing with kerosene - this option effectively destroys the nest and kills wasps, since kerosene completely impregnates the hive and prevents insects from breathing.For fidelity, a fuel-filled nest can be set on fire, but only if it is mounted in a fireproof place.

Fill the nest with mounting foam - the option is only good if the nest is not in an open space, but in a hard-to-reach place, from which there is only one exit. Fill the hole with foam so that there is not the slightest passage for insects.

Using dichlorvos and other special chemicals is another option for confined spaces. Keep in mind that insecticides are harmful to human health, therefore, when using them, wear personal protective equipment: gloves, respirator, goggles.

How to relocate a nest

If you feel sorry for the insects, and you just want to remove the hornet’s nest to another place, then you can do the following:

Use a plastic bag, just do not burn it, but gently shake it away from people.

Place a strong smelling product, such as hot pepper or a rag soaked in kerosene, near the nest. Insects have a subtle sense of smell, so this will scare them away.

Wait for the winter and remove the nest, which by that time will not be living wasps. Surfaces in and around the nest should be treated with a powerful insecticide.
Remember that wasps kill many garden pests, so do not rush to immediately destroy the nest with insects.
